Situated on the coast of Coromandel, Covelong beach is renowned for it sublime beauty and interesting beach activities. This beach is located at a distance of 40 kilometers from Chennai. The place is crowded mostly by water sports buffs, for activities like swimming, surfing and many more. You can also visit architecturally beautiful mosques, churches and forts near this beach.
Connemara Library is a reserve of centuries-old publications, constructed in the late 19th century. This library is one of the Asia’s largest libraries, with an amazing collection of over 6,00,000 books. You can visit this place between 9 am to 7:30 pm, free of cost. Connemara library is undoubtedly an amazing place for reading enthusiasts!
Arignar Anna Zoological Park
If you are visiting Chennai with your children, Arignar Anna Zoological Park is a must visit. This park is located at a distance of 35 kilometers from the City Center. It is home to over 1500 species of wild creatures including the endangered ones. You can also spot a butterfly house, an aquarium and various nocturnal animals here. You can enjoy deer, elephant and lion safari within the premises. Except for Tuesdays, the park is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Crocodile Bank was constructed with a mission of preserving and protecting this reptile species. This place is home to various species of snakes, water birds, sea turtles and alligators. There is a total of 2500 creatures in the area. You can also buy memorabilia and books related to the creatures in the premises. The Bank is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, except Mondays.
