Visit the captivating lakes of the city

Kilometers, the famous Hussain Sagar lake was built by the renowned Sufi saint,Hazrat Syed Hussain Shah Wali in 1526. Built in 1920, the Osman Sagar lake was built by damming Musi river and was named after the Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam of Hyderabad. It was built to save the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad from occasional famine and to meet the irrigation needs. Spread over an area of over 46 Kilometers, this lake is located 20 Kilometers from the heart of the city and a perfect picnic spot as well.
Spend some time at the Mecca Masjid
Located near the popular Charminar, the Mecca Masjid is the most magnificent architectural monument and the biggest mosque of Hyderabad. The mosque is listed as a heritage site for being one of the largest mosques in India. The bricks used to construct the mosque are said to have been brought from Mecca, Saudi Arabia, hence owing its name to the Grand Mosque in Maecca. The belief says that a strand of Prophet Muhammad’s hair is preserved at this mosque. While in Hyderabad, this place is a must see for it will leave you awe-struck by the stunningly patterned granite walls. The mosque can accommodate over 10,000 worshipers at a time. Isn’t that wow?
